Breathe Yoga Style Descriptions
Yoga means to 'yoke' or 'unite' the conscious with the superconscious state. Almost all styles of Yoga practiced in the west today are based on Hatha Yoga. These classes consists of mainly physical asanas (poses) and pranayama (breathing exercises) which strengthen, purify and relax the body in preparation for meditation … and ultimately self realisation.
Dynamic Hatha
An energetic class combining movement and stillness to exercise, calm and cleanse the body and mind.

Vinyasa Flow
A fluid style of Hatha Yoga that will warm the blood and challenge you cardio-vascularly. Breath dictates the movement and the length of time held in the postures. The 'suriya namaskar - sun salutation' sequence which is practiced as a warm up in most Hatha Yoga classes is performed throughout a Vinyasa class combining various Asanas.

Iyengar
Iyengar Yoga, created by B. K. S. Iyengar, focuses on the structural alignment of the physical body through the development of asanas.
This Hatha Yoga style is characterized by great attention to detail and precise focus on body alignment. It is a form of yoga known for its use of props, such as belts and blocks, as aids in performing asanas (postures). Asanas are usually held for a longer period than a traditional Hatha class giving you time to focus on your form and creating the need for mental endurance.
It is firmly based on the traditional eight limbs of yoga as expounded by Patanjali in his Yoga Sutras, emphasizing the development of strength, stamina, flexibility and balance, as well as concentration (Dharana) and meditation (Dhyana). Standing poses are emphasized in Iyengar Yoga. They are said to build strong legs, increase general vitality, and improve circulation, coordination and balance, ensuring a strong foundation for study of more advanced poses.
