Packed with practical application, clinical reasoning, and very hands on, the STOTT PILATES Clinical Pilates Rehab course at Breathe avoids the 'recipe' approach and arms you with the skills to deal with complexity and challenging clients.
The Breathe Clinical Pilates course for physiotherapists introduces you to the biomechanical principles of Pilates. You'll learn in depth practical application through modified Matwork, small equipment and Rehab Reformer exercises.
RMR1 has an emphasis on lumbo-pelvic and shoulder girdle stabilisation and the effective use of clinical Pilates for rehabilitation and injury prevention. RMR2 builds on this knowledge and keeps the empahise on core stabalisation whilst working the periperhal joints, balancing and strengethening the muscles around the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle.
The Breathe clinical Pilates series of courses are only available to degree-qualified healthcare professionals. This means you'll be working at a high level; starting from a solid base of understanding in anatomy, physiology and pathology, you'll explore various dysfunctional movement patterns, and the principles behind correcting them for your clients using clinical Pilates exercise in combination with your manual therapy skills.
Going beyond the basic science behind rehab work, you'll learn how to train your eye to spot aberrant movement patterns in your clients; how to identify what needs changing, and most importantly, how to effectively elicit appropriate changes in their muscle recruitment and alignment. Learn to use clinical Pilates in seamless integration with your manual therapy skills to progress your patients from the acute stage and utilising progressions all the way back to full function for daily life or sporting activities.
